Space Launch Complex 8

Space Launch Complex 8 (SLC-8) at Vandenberg Space Force Base is a government-owned, operational multi-use launchpad supporting Northrop Grumman Minotaur missions and national-security and research payloads. NRO’s NROL-174 launched from SLC-8 on April 16, 2025, returning Minotaur operations to the site after 2011; in March 2026, Space Launch Delta 30 documented Minotaur IV motor stacking for Space Systems Command’s STP-S29A mission. This is a secure military-range launch facility, not a general walk-in visitor attraction; access is controlled, while any public launch viewing follows Vandenberg and mission-specific safety guidance.
