Sri Lanka’s only national museum dedicated to aviation and the history of the Sri Lanka Air Force, located within Ratmalana Air Force Base, preserves the country’s aerial heritage from the service’s 1951 beginnings. The official museum portal presents more than 40 aircraft across multiple hangars, together with helicopters, vehicles, aircraft engines, preserved artefacts and a command research reference library. The museum is a public visitor destination on an active air-base campus; current opening, admission, security, photography, accessibility and other visit arrangements follow official museum guidance and can change.
