The Cold War Museum

The Cold War Museum in Vint Hill, Virginia, is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit preserving Cold War history, honoring veterans and educating future generations. Since 2011 it has occupied the former Vint Hill Farms Station, also known as Monitoring Station No. 1, a top-secret Army signals-intelligence base during the Second World War and Cold War. Collections are particularly strong in signals intelligence and image intelligence, Cold War Berlin, civil defense and atomic weapons, the U-2, USS Liberty and USS Pueblo incidents, Strategic Air Command, submarine detection, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the STASI and Soviet/East German disinformation. Admission is free with donations welcomed; regular weekend access and other hours or group visits by appointment can change, so confirm current details with the museum.
