Tsukuba Space Center

JAXA’s Tsukuba Space Center is a public space-development visitor destination in Tsukuba Science City, home to the Space Dome exhibition, Planet Cube and Rocket Square with a full-scale H-II launch vehicle. Space Dome presents Japan’s space-development history and current projects through full-scale satellite and Kibo Japanese Experiment Module models, H-II Transfer Vehicle hardware and real LE-7A and LE-5 engines. JAXA’s current visitor guidance lists free general entry, 10:00–17:00 opening hours and visitor reception from 09:30–16:30; closures are irregular and may include year-end holidays (December 29–January 3), facility inspections or operational changes, so check the live calendar. Guided facility tours take about 70 minutes, are paid and require complete web advance reservation; the Thursday 11:30 session is offered with English guidance. Enter through the main gate at 2-1-1 Sengen, Tsukuba-shi, Ibaraki 305-8505, Japan. Visitor parking is free for about 50 cars; bus parking requires advance reservation. Space Dome access, tours and other areas can change with JAXA operations.
