Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site

Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site preserves Moton Field, where America’s first African American military pilots and their support crews trained during the Second World War. Restored Hangars 1 and 2 combine original structures, period rooms, oral histories, flight simulators and training aircraft to interpret both the demands of military aviation and the Airmen’s enduring civil-rights legacy. Current National Park Service guidance lists Hangar 1 and Hangar 2 open Monday–Saturday 09:00–16:30 Central Time, with the site closed Sundays, New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. The grounds, trails, roads and parking areas are open daily from sunrise to sunset unless an emergency, construction or safety closure is posted; public restrooms are available. Entrance is free with no pass required. The historic core also includes the Control Tower and Skyway Club, whose public viewing or interior access can vary by facility.
