Uchinoura Space Science Museum

Uchinoura Space Center Space Science Museum is JAXA's free public museum at Japan's historic scientific-launch and satellite-tracking center, established in 1962. Its displays cover rocket prototypes and testing models, scientific satellites and instruments, past experiments and a model of the M Rocket Assembly Building; the wider visitor route includes launch facilities, full-scale rocket models and large tracking antennas. Access and closures vary by facility operations, launch work and special cleaning, so check JAXA's current notices and register at the gate. The Space Science Museum is the only building open to visitors; other facilities are viewed from outside. Free parking is available, but wheelchairs and strollers are supported outdoors only.
