Usuda Deep Space Center Exhibition Hall

Usuda Deep Space Center Exhibition Hall is the public interpretation building beside JAXA’s deep-space communications complex in the mountains of Nagano. Free displays explain how the station’s antennas send commands to and receive scientific data from distant spacecraft; current visitor information also notes a permanent 1/4-scale SLIM lunar-lander model, while the outdoor route includes JAXA’s 5.5-billionths-scale solar-system model and views toward the antennas. JAXA lists exhibition access 10:00–16:00 and winter closure from mid-November to mid-April; contact +81-267-81-1230 to confirm seasonal status before travel. Free parking serves about 12 cars and two large vehicles by arrangement; wheelchairs and strollers can enter, with one free loan wheelchair.
