Visitor Centre Vliegveld Valkenburg preserves the history of the former Dutch naval airfield in a Cold War communications bunker. Its permanent exhibition covers the airfield from the 1930s to its 2006 closure, with photographs, models, small objects, a historic aircraft staircase, a complete aircraft engine and recovered German and Dutch aircraft wreckage; a detailed airfield model and changing exhibitions add context. The foundation welcomes visitors every Saturday afternoon and by appointment, with parking and bus access at the former airfield entrance. The bunker accommodates most wheelchairs and mobility scooters, but its entrance and toilet are not suitable for every wheelchair; confirm current opening or appointment arrangements before travel.
