Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope

The Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope (WSRT) is ASTRON's 14-dish, 25-metre radio interferometer near Hooghalen, Netherlands, used for radio astronomy and an open user facility for scientists worldwide. The telescope terrain is a restricted-access zone: public visitors must park at Herinneringscentrum Kamp Westerbork, then walk or cycle to the viewing area via the paved route or Milky Way educational path; the telescope terrain itself is not open to visitors. Turn off mobile phones, tablets, and other transmitters; GPS can route vehicles onto unsuitable forest tracks. Hosted visits require prior ASTRON permission.
