Yorkshire Air Museum

Yorkshire Air Museum and Allied Air Forces Memorial is a registered charity and accredited museum on the 20-acre former RAF Elvington Second World War heavy-bomber base near York. It presents aircraft from pre-war aviation through Cold War fighters, Allied Air Forces memorials, exhibitions, a 1930s-style Astra cinema, café, playground and picnic areas, and an extensive historical collection. Opening, admission, event and special-ticket arrangements vary; verify the operator before travel. The site is described as about 90% accessible with ramps, accessible toilets, easy-access parking and wheelchairs available to borrow; much of the collection is spread across the grounds, and the Grade II-listed Control Tower first floor has no lift.
