JAXA/NASDA's Advanced Earth Observing Satellite-II (ADEOS-II), nicknamed Midori II, was an international Earth-observation mission launched on 2002-12-14. Its instruments observed atmospheric, ocean, land, and climate variables from a sun-synchronous orbit until operations ended after a 2003 communications anomaly.
