The third ATV mission delivered nearly seven tonnes of propellant, oxygen, air, water, and dry supplies to the International Space Station. Edoardo Amaldi launched on 23 March 2012 and docked five days later, on 28 March. While attached, the freighter conducted nine station reboosts and supported the transfer of supplies and waste. It undocked on 28 September and was deliberately deorbited over the South Pacific on 3 October 2012. This completed operational flight demonstrated the recurring logistics and orbit-maintenance service that ATV provided to the station.
