Chandrayaan-4

Chandrayaan-4 is ISRO’s planned lunar sample-return mission and a major step in India’s lunar exploration roadmap. The mission is designed as five modules launched in two LVM3 stacks: an Ascender and Descender stack, and a Transfer, Re-entry, and Propulsion stack. After docking in Earth orbit, the integrated spacecraft is planned to travel to the Moon, collect roughly 2–3 kilograms of surface and subsurface material, launch the sealed samples from the lunar surface, and return them safely to Earth. ISRO currently gives a 2027–2028 launch timeframe rather than an exact date.
