Euclid is a European Space Agency observatory surveying billions of galaxies to study how dark matter and dark energy shape the composition and evolution of the Universe. Falcon 9 injected the spacecraft toward the Sun-Earth L2 region, and ground controllers acquired its signal 45 minutes after launch. Euclid subsequently began its planned cosmology survey from a halo orbit around L2.
