Expedition 13 was a long-duration International Space Station increment led by Pavel Vinogradov with Jeffrey Williams as flight engineer and NASA science officer. Vinogradov and Williams launched on Soyuz TMA-8 in March 2006, beginning the increment after docking with the station. ESA astronaut Thomas Reiter joined the crew in July 2006 after arriving on STS-121, restoring the ISS to a three-person resident crew for the first time since the post-Columbia two-person period. The crew supported station science, maintenance, Progress logistics, visiting Shuttle activity, and two expedition EVAs before Vinogradov and Williams returned to Earth on Soyuz TMA-8 in September 2006.
