Expedition 18 was a long-duration International Space Station increment commanded by Michael Fincke with Yuri Lonchakov as flight engineer and Soyuz commander. Gregory Chamitoff transferred from Expedition 17 before STS-126 exchanged him for Sandra Magnus; STS-119 later exchanged Magnus for Koichi Wakata. The crew expanded station life-support capacity, received Shuttle and cargo traffic, completed the S6 truss power system, and performed two resident Russian-segment EVAs. Fincke and Lonchakov returned with Charles Simonyi aboard Soyuz TMA-13 while Wakata transferred to Expedition 19.
