Expedition 62 was an International Space Station increment that began on February 6, 2020, after Soyuz MS-13 undocked and left Oleg Skripochka, Jessica Meir, and Andrew Morgan aboard the station. Skripochka commanded the increment, with Meir and Morgan continuing the long-duration work they had begun during Expeditions 61 and 60. NASA highlighted Expedition 62 research in microgravity cell biology, combustion behavior in spacecraft environments, electron-microscope particle identification, and water-droplet studies related to improved faucet technology on Earth. The crew also handled Cygnus NG-13 arrival, SpaceX CRS-20 cargo operations, station maintenance, and preparations for the next Soyuz crew. Soyuz MS-16 docked on April 9, 2020, bringing Anatoli Ivanishin, Ivan Vagner, and Christopher Cassidy into the Expedition 62 handover period before the departing Soyuz MS-15 crew returned to Earth. Expedition 62 ended on April 17, 2020, when Soyuz MS-15 undocked and the station transitioned to Expedition 63 under Cassidy's command.
