Expedition 68 was a long-duration International Space Station increment that began when Soyuz MS-21 undocked on September 29, 2022, and ended with Soyuz MS-22 undocking on March 28, 2023. The expedition opened with Samantha Cristoforetti commanding a seven-person crew and soon transitioned through the arrival of NASA SpaceX Crew-5, after which Sergei Prokopyev took command. During the increment, the station hosted Crew-4, Soyuz MS-22, Crew-5, and the arrival of Crew-6, with research, robotics, cargo operations, and multiple EVAs across the U.S. and Russian segments. A Soyuz MS-22 coolant leak led Roscosmos to send Soyuz MS-23 to the station without crew as a replacement return vehicle for Prokopyev, Dmitri Petelin, and Frank Rubio. Spacefacts records the full Expedition 68 station increment as 15 crew members across the handovers, including the Crew-6 astronauts who joined shortly before Expedition 69 began.
