Expedition 71 was a long-duration International Space Station increment that began after Soyuz MS-24 departed in early April 2024 and ended when Soyuz MS-25 undocked and landed on September 23, 2024. NASA's official Expedition 71 page presents the core seven-person crew: Oleg Kononenko, Nikolai Chub, Tracy Caldwell Dyson, Matthew Dominick, Michael Barratt, Jeanette Epps, and Aleksandr Grebyonkin. They continued station science, maintenance, cargo operations, and visiting-vehicle support from the prior Expedition 70 handover. The broader station increment also included Boeing Crew Flight Test astronauts Barry Wilmore and Sunita Williams after NASA decided Starliner would return uncrewed and said the pair would continue formally as part of the Expedition 71/72 crew. Soyuz MS-26 later brought Aleksey Ovchinin, Ivan Vagner, and Donald Pettit to the station before the Expedition 71 to Expedition 72 handover. NASA's Expedition 71 mission page records Soyuz MS-26 arrival, Boeing Crew Flight Test events, and the September 23 Soyuz MS-25 landing among the increment's crew and cargo milestones.
