The first O3b mPOWER launch placed two Boeing-built, software-defined communications satellites on course for medium Earth orbit. They inaugurated SES's second-generation O3b system, whose digitally formed beams are designed to allocate low-latency broadband capacity flexibly for government, mobility, telecom, and enterprise users.
