GOES-U / GOES-19 Mission
GOES-19 is NOAA's operational GOES East weather and environmental-monitoring mission. Launched as GOES-U, the spacecraft reached geostationary orbit on July 7, 2024, was renamed GOES-19, and entered service at 75.2 degrees west on April 7, 2025, observing severe weather, lightning, and space-weather hazards across much of the Western Hemisphere.
