GPM Mission
Active NASA–JAXA-led international Earth-observation program launched on 27 February 2014 to measure global rain and snow. Its GPM Core Observatory combines the Dual-frequency Precipitation Radar and GPM Microwave Imager as a reference standard for unifying precipitation estimates from a constellation of partner satellites, supporting water- and energy-cycle science, weather and hazard forecasting, and freshwater applications.
