Haven-1 is a planned commercial space station designed and operated by Vast, set to be the first commercial destination in low Earth orbit. Launched on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket no earlier than 2025, Haven-1 will initially operate as an independent crewed station before eventually being integrated into a larger modular station. The facility is designed to provide 24/7 power, data, and communications, as well as approximately 30 days of life support for a four-person crew. The first crewed mission to the station, Vast-1, will see four astronauts travel to Haven-1 aboard a SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft. During their stay, the crew will conduct scientific research, technology demonstrations, and station maintenance. This mission marks a significant milestone in the commercialization of low Earth orbit, transitioning space station operations from government-led initiatives to private enterprise.
