Inspiration4 was a privately funded SpaceX Crew Dragon mission flown to low Earth orbit in support of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Jared Isaacman commanded the four-person crew with Sian Proctor as pilot, Hayley Arceneaux as medical officer, and Christopher Steven Sembroski as mission specialist. The mission launched from Kennedy Space Center's Launch Complex 39A on September 16, 2021 UTC aboard Crew Dragon Resilience and ended with an Atlantic Ocean splashdown on September 18. St. Jude describes Inspiration4 as the first all-civilian mission to orbit Earth and reports that it raised more than $250 million for the hospital.
