Mir EO-22 was a Russian long-duration expedition to the Mir space station. Valeri Korzun and Aleksandr Kaleri launched on Soyuz TM-24 from Baikonur on August 17, 1996, docked with Mir two days later, and returned on Soyuz TM-24 on March 2, 1997. The increment overlapped the Shuttle-Mir research residencies of Shannon Lucid, John Blaha, and Jerry Linenger, whose stays bridged U.S. Shuttle flights and Russian Mir operations. The expedition supported Mir systems work, Shuttle-Mir handovers, research in life sciences, Earth observation, microgravity, and space technology, and two December 1996 EVAs by Korzun and Kaleri.
