Mir EO-28 was the final resident crewed expedition to the Mir space station. Sergei Zalyotin and Aleksandr Kaleri launched from Baikonur aboard Soyuz TM-30 on April 4, 2000, docked with Mir on April 6, and returned to Earth on June 16. The privately backed MirCorp effort sent the crew to reactivate, inspect, and maintain the uncrewed station, including life-support checks, air-seal work, Progress cargo operations, and an EVA on May 12, 2000, to inspect exterior systems and address station hardware.
