NOAA-18

NOAA-18 was a fifth-generation Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite launched on May 20, 2005. Its imaging, infrared and microwave sounding, ozone, space-environment and relay instruments supported weather forecasting and environmental records. The spacecraft lost transmitter functionality in late May 2025 and underwent emergency passivation on June 6, 2025. Its archived observations remain useful, but the satellite no longer provides operational data.
