Outcome
Pegasus placed the combined payload into the intended orbit, but SAC-B did not separate from the third stage. Controllers deployed its solar arrays and communicated for roughly 16 hours, but the attached upper stage and HETE assembly caused uncontrolled motion and prevented adequate solar power, ending the mission before science operations.
