Sentinel-1B is the second satellite of the Copernicus Sentinel-1 mission, launched on 25 April 2016 on Soyuz VS14 from Kourou. Together with Sentinel-1A, its C-band synthetic-aperture radar provides all-weather, day-and-night imagery for sea-ice, marine, land-motion, environmental, and disaster-response monitoring.
