Soyuz MS-02 was a Roscosmos crew transport mission to the International Space Station for the Expedition 49 and 50 period. The spacecraft launched from Baikonur Site 31/6 on October 19, 2016 UTC with commander Sergey Ryzhikov, Roscosmos flight engineer Andrei Borisenko, and NASA flight engineer Shane Kimbrough. The crew docked with the station's Poisk module on October 21 after a two-day rendezvous and joined Expedition 49. Ryzhikov, Borisenko, and Kimbrough continued aboard through Expedition 50 and returned to Kazakhstan on April 10, 2017 after about 173 days in space.
