Soyuz MS-04 launched from Baikonur Site 1/5 on April 20, 2017 and docked with the International Space Station later the same day after a fast rendezvous profile. The spacecraft carried Soyuz commander Fyodor Yurchikhin and NASA astronaut Jack Fischer to the station, where they joined Expedition 51 and continued into Expedition 52. The launch brought the station crew to five people. Soyuz MS-04 returned to Earth on September 3, 2017 with Yurchikhin, Fischer, and Peggy Whitson aboard, landing near Zhezkazgan, Kazakhstan.
