Soyuz MS-09 launched from Baikonur Site 1/5 on June 6, 2018 UTC with commander Sergei Prokopyev, ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst, and NASA astronaut Serena Auñón-Chancellor for Expeditions 56 and 57. A small pressure leak discovered in its orbital module in August was sealed and investigated; the spacecraft was cleared for return. The same crew landed safely southeast of Zhezkazgan on December 20 after about 197 days, completing Gerst's Horizons mission.
