Soyuz MS-17 launched from Baikonur on October 14, 2020 with Roscosmos commander Sergey Ryzhikov, NASA flight engineer Kathleen Rubins, and Roscosmos flight engineer Sergey Kud-Sverchkov. The spacecraft used a fast two-orbit rendezvous profile and docked with the International Space Station only a few hours after launch. The crew joined the station during Expedition 63 and continued through Expedition 64. Rubins carried out biology and human-research work, Ryzhikov commanded Expedition 64, and Kud-Sverchkov completed his first spaceflight. The crew also relocated Soyuz MS-17 from Rassvet to Poisk in March 2021 to prepare for the next Soyuz arrival. Soyuz MS-17 undocked and landed in Kazakhstan on April 17, 2021. NASA reported that Rubins, Ryzhikov, and Kud-Sverchkov returned after 185 days in space, completing Rubins' second spaceflight, Ryzhikov's second, and Kud-Sverchkov's first.
