Soyuz T-15 launched Leonid Kizim and Vladimir Solovyov from Baikonur Site 1/5 on March 13, 1986. The crew docked with the newly launched Mir core module on March 15, becoming Mir's first crewed expedition and beginning the operational transition from Salyut 7 to the modular Mir station. The mission was unusual because it visited two stations. After initial work aboard Mir, Kizim and Solovyov undocked on May 5, flew Soyuz T-15 to Salyut 7, and docked there on May 6. They reactivated the older station, carried out work including two EVAs and transfer of equipment and experimental material, then returned to Mir in late June. Spacefacts lists Kizim as commander and Solovyov as flight engineer, with a mission duration of 125 days and 56 seconds across 1,980 orbits. Soyuz T-15 undocked from Mir and landed northeast of Arkalyk on July 16, 1986. AeroVia models Mir as the primary station link for this record and describes the Salyut 7 phase in the mission text.
