Soyuz TM-11

Soyuz TM-11 launched from Baikonur Site 1/5 on December 2, 1990 with Viktor Afanasyev, Musa Manarov, and Japanese broadcaster Toyohiro Akiyama. The flight docked with Mir on December 4. Akiyama made a short TBS-sponsored media visit and returned with the outgoing Soyuz TM-10 crew on December 10, while Afanasyev and Manarov remained aboard as the Mir-8 resident crew. Their expedition continued station maintenance, scientific work, spacecraft relocations, and EVAs before the Soyuz TM-11 spacecraft returned them to Earth on May 26, 1991.
