Soyuz TMA-02M launched from Baikonur Site 1/5 on June 7, 2011 UTC and docked with the International Space Station's Rassvet module on June 9. The spacecraft carried Roscosmos commander Sergei Volkov, JAXA flight engineer Satoshi Furukawa, and NASA flight engineer Michael Fossum to the station for Expeditions 28 and 29. The crew supported station science, Kibo laboratory operations, maintenance, visiting-vehicle work, STS-135 docked operations, and expedition handover activities before returning to Earth aboard Soyuz TMA-02M on November 22, 2011, landing north of Arkalyk, Kazakhstan.
