Soyuz TMA-03M launched from Baikonur Site 1/5 on December 21, 2011 with Oleg Kononenko, ESA astronaut André Kuipers, and NASA astronaut Donald Pettit. It docked with the International Space Station on December 23, restoring six-person operations during Expedition 30. The crew continued into Expedition 31, with Kononenko later taking command of the station. The spacecraft undocked and landed in Kazakhstan on July 1, 2012.
