The spacecraft carried Roscosmos commander Roman Romanenko, CSA flight engineer Chris Hadfield, and NASA flight engineer Thomas Marshburn to the station for Expeditions 34 and 35. The crew supported station research, maintenance, visiting vehicles, outreach, and expedition handover operations before returning to Earth aboard the same Soyuz on May 14, 2013, landing southeast of Dzhezkazgan, Kazakhstan.
