Soyuz TMA-11M launched from Baikonur Site 1/5 on November 7, 2013 UTC and docked with the International Space Station later the same day. The spacecraft carried Roscosmos commander Mikhail Tyurin, NASA flight engineer Richard Mastracchio, and JAXA flight engineer Koichi Wakata to the station for Expeditions 38 and 39. The crew supported station research, maintenance, visiting-vehicle work, and expedition handover operations before returning to Earth aboard the same Soyuz on May 14, 2014, landing near Zhezkazgan, Kazakhstan.
