Soyuz TMA-13M launched from Baikonur Site 1/5 on May 28, 2014 UTC and docked with the International Space Station on May 29 after a same-day rendezvous. The spacecraft carried Roscosmos commander Maksim Surayev, NASA flight engineer Gregory Reid Wiseman, and ESA flight engineer Alexander Gerst to the station for Expeditions 40 and 41. During the crew's stay, Surayev, Wiseman, and Gerst supported station research, maintenance, visiting-vehicle operations, and expedition handover work, with Surayev later commanding Expedition 41. Soyuz TMA-13M undocked from the station on November 10, 2014 UTC and landed northeast of Arkalyk, Kazakhstan, returning the same three crew members after about 165 days in orbit.
