The spacecraft carried Roscosmos commander Aleksandr Samokutyayev, Roscosmos flight engineer Elena Serova, and NASA flight engineer Barry Wilmore to the station for Expeditions 41 and 42. The crew supported station research, maintenance, visiting vehicles, and international operations before returning to Earth aboard the same Soyuz on March 12, 2015, landing southeast of Dzhezkazgan, Kazakhstan.
