Soyuz TMA-19M launched from Baikonur Site 1/5 on December 15, 2015 UTC and docked manually with the International Space Station's Rassvet module later the same day after an automated docking attempt was aborted. The spacecraft carried Roscosmos commander Yuri Malenchenko, NASA flight engineer Timothy Kopra, and ESA flight engineer Timothy Peake to the station for Expeditions 46 and 47. The crew supported station research, maintenance, visiting-vehicle operations, education outreach, and expedition handover work before returning to Earth aboard the same Soyuz on June 18, 2016, landing near Zhezkazgan, Kazakhstan.
