The spacecraft carried Roscosmos commander Dmitri Kondratiyev, ESA flight engineer Paolo Nespoli, and NASA flight engineer Catherine Coleman to the station for Expeditions 26 and 27. The crew supported station science, maintenance, robotics, visiting-vehicle operations, and expedition handover work before returning to Earth aboard Soyuz TMA-20 on May 24, 2011, landing southeast of Zhezkazgan, Kazakhstan.
