Soyuz TMA-22 launched from Baikonur Site 1/5 on November 14, 2011 UTC and docked with the International Space Station's Poisk module on November 16. The spacecraft carried Roscosmos commander Anton Shkaplerov, Roscosmos flight engineer Anatoli Ivanishin, and NASA flight engineer Daniel Burbank to the station for Expeditions 29 and 30. During the increment, Burbank later commanded Expedition 30 while Shkaplerov and Ivanishin served as Russian-segment flight engineers. The crew supported station research, visiting-vehicle operations, maintenance, and post-Shuttle handover work before returning to Earth aboard Soyuz TMA-22 on April 27, 2012, landing in Kazakhstan north-northeast of Arkalyk.
