SpaceX Crew-2 was NASA's second operational Commercial Crew rotation mission to the International Space Station. Shane Kimbrough commanded the flight, Megan McArthur served as pilot, and Akihiko Hoshide and Thomas Pesquet flew as mission specialists. The crew launched from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center on April 23, 2021 aboard Crew Dragon Endeavour, docking with the station the next day. Their stay supported Expeditions 65 and 66, station maintenance, science investigations, technology demonstrations, public engagement, Crew Dragon port relocation, and solar-array preparation work through multiple spacewalks. Crew-2 returned on November 8, 2021, splashing down in the Gulf of Mexico off Pensacola after a record-setting long-duration mission for a U.S. crewed spacecraft at the time.
