STS-112

STS-112 was an International Space Station assembly mission flown by Space Shuttle Atlantis in October 2002. The mission delivered the Starboard 1 integrated truss segment and the first Crew and Equipment Translation Aid cart, extending the station's backbone and preparing work sites for later assembly. Atlantis docked with the station while Expedition 5 was aboard, and the combined teams used Canadarm2 and three spacewalks to install and activate the new truss hardware. The flight also marked the first Shuttle launch with a camera on the external tank, giving live ascent imagery to flight controllers and viewers.
