STS-118 was Space Shuttle Endeavour's International Space Station Assembly Flight 13A.1 and the orbiter's return to flight after a major modification period. The mission delivered the S5 truss segment, External Stowage Platform 3, a replacement control moment gyroscope, and SPACEHAB logistics cargo to the station. Endeavour also activated the Station-to-Shuttle Power Transfer System, allowing docked Shuttle missions to draw power from the ISS and extend their stay. The crew completed four spacewalks, used both Shuttle and station robotic arms for assembly tasks, and supported education events with students in the United States and Canada. NASA shortened the mission by one day because of Hurricane Dean planning, and Endeavour landed safely at Kennedy Space Center on August 21, 2007.
