STS-119

STS-119 was a Space Shuttle Discovery mission to the International Space Station that delivered the S6 Integrated Truss Segment and the final pair of U.S. solar array wings. Discovery launched from Kennedy Space Center Launch Complex 39A on March 15, 2009 with Lee Archambault commanding, Tony Antonelli as pilot, and mission specialists Joseph Acaba, Richard Arnold, John Phillips, Steve Swanson, and Koichi Wakata. The flight also rotated station crew members: Wakata remained aboard the ISS, while Sandra Magnus returned to Earth with Discovery after serving on Expedition 18. The mission included three EVAs to install and configure the S6 truss and brought the U.S. segment closer to full electrical power for six-person station operations.
