STS-40
STS-40, Spacelab Life Sciences 1, was the first Space Shuttle mission dedicated entirely to life-sciences and biomedical research. Flying aboard Space Shuttle Columbia from June 5 to June 14, 1991, the seven-person crew completed human, animal, and biological experiments during 146 Earth orbits and returned a major body of medical data for NASA's life-sciences program.
