STS-50 was a Space Shuttle Columbia Spacelab mission carrying the first United States Microgravity Laboratory. Launched from Launch Complex 39A on June 25, 1992, it was the first Extended Duration Orbiter mission and, at the time, the longest Shuttle flight. The crew ran around-the-clock microgravity research in materials processing, fluid physics, biotechnology, combustion science, and human adaptation before landing at Kennedy Space Center's Shuttle Landing Facility on July 9.
